About the weld neck flange

The weld neck flange has a long tapered hub that is butt-welded to the pipe. It is the strongest and most reliable flange type, preferred for high-pressure, high-temperature, and cyclic service where fatigue resistance is critical.

BS-10

British Standard – Flanges and Bolting for Pipes, Valves and Fittings

The dominant flange standard in India for water, HVAC, and general utility service. Widely used on government tenders and municipal infrastructure projects.

Table D: ~10 bar (the most common table in India)
Table E: ~16 bar (medium pressure)
Table F: ~25 bar (higher pressure)
Flat face (FF) with full-face gasket is the default
Bolt pattern and PCD differ from ASME B16.5: not interchangeable
Material: IS 2062 Gr. A / mild steel standard
