Piping components for manufacturing plants
Every factory runs on the same services: water, steam, compressed air and cooling. The piping has to be easy to source, easy to fit and easy to maintain.

The requirement
What manufacturing plants demand of a fitting
General manufacturing plants (engineering works, automotive and component plants, textiles, metals and packaging) share a common set of utilities. Water, steam, compressed air, cooling water and fire lines make up most of the piping, and most of it is carbon steel to ASTM A234 or mild steel to IS 1239.
What matters here is availability and fit-up. Standard buttweld and forged fittings, flanges in common classes and stocked sizes keep installation and maintenance moving, and a replacement part should not hold up a production line.
Stainless steel comes in where the process demands it (wash water, coolant, chemical dosing and food-grade lines) and gratings complete the plant for walkways, platforms and trench covers.
IllustrationWhere these components sit
- Plant water, cooling water and fire lines
- Steam and condensate distribution
- Compressed air headers and drops
- Process, coolant and chemical dosing lines
- Walkways, platforms and trench covers in gratings
Specification points that matter here
- Carbon steel to ASTM A234 or mild steel to IS 1239 for most utilities
- Stainless where wash-down, coolant or chemicals are in contact
- Match flange class and facing to the valves and equipment on the line
- Forged Class 3000 fittings for small-bore air, drain and instrument connections
- State the span and load for gratings with the enquiry
Ranges for this sector
What we supply into it
The categories most often specified for this service. Every one carries the full range behind it.
- Buttweld FittingsButtweld elbows, bends, tees, reducers and caps welded end to end with the pipe, for a joint as strong as the pipe itself and a smooth, leak-free bore.View 14 products
- FlangesFlanges that make a bolted, gasketed joint at equipment, valves and spool breaks, so a line can be opened again for isolation, inspection or replacement.View 22 products
- Forged FittingsSocket weld and threaded fittings machined from solid forgings, for strong, compact joints on small-bore, high-pressure lines such as drains, vents and gauge points.View 15 products
- GratingsHot-dip galvanized steel gratings for walkways, platforms and trench covers, to carry foot traffic while letting light, air and liquids pass through.View the range
