The requirement
What pulp & paper demand of a fitting
Stock preparation and bleaching circuits carry abrasive fibre slurry and, in the bleach plant, chlorine dioxide and other aggressive chemistry. Austenitic stainless is the baseline; duplex appears where chloride levels make stress corrosion cracking a real risk.
Abrasion changes the geometry decisions as well as the material. Long-radius elbows and bends distribute wear over a longer arc than a short-radius fitting does, which directly extends the interval between line replacements.
Above the process, the mill floor itself is permanently wet. Galvanised gratings for walkways and platforms are part of the same supply.
IllustrationWhere these components sit
- Stock preparation and pulp slurry lines in stainless
- Bleach plant chemical circuits in duplex where chlorides are present
- White water and process water recirculation
- Steam and condensate circuits for the dryer section
- Walkway, platform and drainage gratings
Specification points that matter here
- Long-radius elbows and 3D/5D bends to spread abrasive wear
- Duplex rather than 316L where chloride concentration is high
- Stub ends and lap joint flanges allow line rotation for wear redistribution
- Galvanised gratings for permanently wet walkway areas
- Confirm surface finish requirements for lines subject to fibre build-up
Ranges for this sector
What we supply into it
The categories most often specified for this service. Every one carries the full range behind it.
- Buttweld FittingsButtweld elbows, bends, tees, reducers and caps welded end to end with the pipe, for a joint as strong as the pipe itself and a smooth, leak-free bore.View 14 products
- FlangesFlanges that make a bolted, gasketed joint at equipment, valves and spool breaks, so a line can be opened again for isolation, inspection or replacement.View 22 products
- GratingsHot-dip galvanized steel gratings for walkways, platforms and trench covers, to carry foot traffic while letting light, air and liquids pass through.View the range
